Extensive Supervisor Development Programme completed

Throughout 2018, supervisors, who play a key role in helping deliver the five key objectives for a Coventry manufacture have attended monthly one day workshops, followed by half day presentations two weeks later where they presented and demonstrated how their learning will/is helping the business achieve success.
Every workshop was designed to instil essential management and leadership skills into the supervisors to enable them to become more analytical in their decision making and approaches to managing people.
Supported throughout by the Managing Director, Works Manager and Operations Manager, each of the supervisors were recognised for their achievements by being presented with a certificate detailing the elements of the programme they had attended, including; Team Leadership – Managing Performance – Understanding Behaviour and Handling Negativity and Conflict.
Well done to these supervisors who now bring additional skills to their key role in delivering for their business.

Success for ILM candidates!

GREAT NEWS for the candidates who, after attending thirteen one day modules, with each module followed by a written marked assignment and then ultimately presenting individually to assessors what they had learnt, how they had applied this learning and what the ROI was for the organisation they worked for, they passed this endorsed programme

They now have a broader and deeper knowledge of the skills required in leading and managing people after covering areas involved with:

  1. Communication
  2. Behaviours
  3. Influencing
  4. Negativity and Conflict
  5. Coaching
  6. Team Leadership
  7. Managing Performance
  8. Working Efficiently
  9. Managing Change
  10. Managing Stress
  11. Problem Solving and Decision Making
  12. Customer Service
  13. Presentation Skills

Well done to these up and coming managers who demonstrated their sticking power and ability to understand theory, analyse their work situation and appropriately apply the necessary skills.

If you have a group of supervisors or managers who you feel would benefit from experiencing a similar challenge, why not give us a call.

We’re Back on the Web….!

Technology is a wonderful thing, but for whatever reasons, when it doesn’t want to play, then it can be a challenge! As very recent events have demonstrated all too well, but through very different causes to ours.

The technical hitch with our website hasn’t stopped us from forging ahead with developing the strong links with Early Years providers and end users mentioned in the last post before we crashed.

Watch out for up and coming developments in this area along with updated information in the areas of our site which have passed their ‘sell by’ date whilst the website was down. Like the programme of planned workshops, which we’re busy running but haven’t been able to publicise or offer the online booking process – sorry!

Exciting times for Early Years…

In August we broke the news of our involvement in early years activity. Whilst we’re still developing a new section for our website, we thought you might like to know what we’ve been doing since in this area.

Here is a summary of the activity which has taken place in November:

Advice and Support:

Effective Governance in Early Years Foundation Stage

Reception Teacher Cluster visit

Primary School Nursery Visits

Consultancy visit for an ‘Inadequate Setting’

Training Courses:

The Characteristics of Effective Learning

Mud, Mess and Mayhem

To Infinity and Beyond

Hold Me, Hug Me, Help Me

The diary is also looking pretty busy already for 2017! If you own, run, manage or work in a nursery and you feel our services might be of use, do give us a call.

Great news for those involved with Early Years…

Great news, a whole new section concerning Early Years provision will be added to our portfolio later this year.

If you are involved with early years management or actively work in an early years environment with young children, then this will be the place for you to get information and identify the training necessary to maintain the standards required by todays legislation covering early years provision.

Four Straight Lines Ltd has recruited early years professionals to devise and deliver the training, provide visits and advice to assess current provision and shortfalls.

We’re excited about this development and looking forward to November when a whole new section will feature on our website.

If you can’t wait and want to know more right now, then use our ‘Make an Enquiry’ facility.

A busy, exciting few months!

Busy, Busy…

The last few months have been busy ones for Four Straight Lines Ltd., with the preparation and delivery of a range of development activities. These have included a session for a company conference examining directors roles and responsibilities, and for another company, the launch in May of an ILM Level3 programme of learning and development for their supervisors and managers involving thirteen modules and spanning fourteen months!
